Plot Summary: Jimmy tosses and turns in bed, inexplicably uncomfortable on the soft mattress. At 1 AM, he gives up and watches TV. But an ad on screen makes him even more uneasy. It's a re-edited commercial from Davis & Main and Hamlin & McGill, still with a dry voiceover. And at this hour, when most seniors are long asleep, who would even notice it? A feeling of loss and loneliness overwhelms him. Jimmy drives back to the nail salon, pulling out the sofa bed in the small storage room. This is where Jimmy truly belongs, and his mind finally settles, allowing him to get some sleep. In the morning, Kim finishes her toiletries, ready for work. Usually, Jimmy calls every morning to sing a wake-up song, but today the phone remains silent. Perhaps she spoke too harshly to Jimmy last time, Kim quietly finds an excuse and walks towards the door. The bedside phone rings, and after the answering machine's prompt, Jimmy's off-key singing fills the room. Kim returns to the bed and sits down, listening to the entire song before smiling gently, feeling energized for work again. Kim is back in her original office, thanks to Chuck's coordination. However, Kim can clearly sense Howard's displeasure; he maintains a stern expression without saying a word on the way to the meeting room. Only at the meeting room door does Howard reveal a professional smile. Kevin and Paige are in the meeting room, representing the bank. Paige is also Kim's old classmate, and it's through her connections that this big deal was secured. After updating Kevin and Paige on the case's progress and strategy, Kim goes to court alone to face the motion from Rich Schweikart's legal team. Schweikart's team demands all plaintiffs' medical records to determine if they have mental illness or dementia. Generally, such motions are granted by the court, so Howard is too lazy to attend, simply sending Kim to go through the motions. But Kim refuses to give up easily, arguing strenuously in court, first asserting the privacy of medical records, then pointing out that the defendant should have considered this issue when signing contracts with the plaintiffs, and implying that the defendant might have overcharged precisely because of this. Kim's persistent fight in this seemingly unwinnable hearing piques Rich Schweikart's interest. After the hearing, Rich personally invites Kim to lunch. At a high-end restaurant, Rich enthusiastically recommends a drink. However, Kim doesn't want to be misunderstood, so she only orders iced tea. Rich directly states his thoughts, having noticed Kim on TV since the Kettlemans' embezzlement case. After this period of interaction, he admires Kim's professionalism and passion even more. So Rich offers Kim a job invitation and is willing to cover her student loan debt to Hamlin & McGill. This is a great opportunity that Kim wants to seize, but her inner professional ethics won't allow her to do so. After work, Kim returns to that high-end restaurant, ordering a cocktail recommended by Rich, hesitating. Just then, the bartender approaches, saying the gentleman next to her would like to buy her a drink. Kim sees this man as a successful businessman; she remembers seeing him kissing his wife goodbye outside the restaurant earlier, and now he wants to flirt. Kim suddenly remembers the trick she and Jimmy played at the resort. She gives the fake name she used last time and calls Jimmy over. These two entrepreneurialsiblings then start looking for investors for their social media website. The lust-struck successful man signs a ten-thousand-dollar check, only to be stood up. After the prank, Kim feels much better. She doesn't plan to cash the check, treating it as a souvenir by tucking it into the mirror frame. But the problem in her heart remains unresolved. Jimmy, hearing about Kim's job opportunity, is very happy for her, eager to see Howard's expression when he receives her resignation letter. After his night shift, old Mike finishes breakfast and drives home. A disgruntled fellow sits on his front steps. He's there for an answer, and after receiving Mike's negative response, the man gets up and leaves. He's one of Tuco's uncle Hector's men. Mike knows trouble will follow and must prepare. The next evening, old Mike returns home after his day shift. He lifts the doormat, revealing several footprints on a white paper underneath. He then feels the keyhole and doorframe, noticing subtle scratches. Mike pulls out his pistol and enters the house, turning on the TV and standing against the wall. The storage room door slowly opens, and two men, pistols in hand, stealthily approach the sofa in front of the TV. Mike swings his pistol, cleanly knocking both men down with the butt of the gun. These are two small-time thugs acting on orders, only intending to scare Mike, but they ended up getting a beating themselves. The matter isn't over. While Mike is playing with Kaylee in the pool, he sees two men standing on a nearby rooftop. They form their hands into pistol shapes, pointing them at Kaylee. Mike knows a powerful dragon cannot overpower a local snake, and only by agreeing to Hector's demands can he find peace. That night, at a closed dessert shop, old Mike meets Hector, with Nacho frisking him before he enters. Mike knows very well that in Hector's eyes, nothing matters except Tuco, including money and Mike's life. If anything happens to Mike, Tuco will spend eight years in prison. So Mike demands fifty thousand dollars in compensation, not a penny less. Hector rarely sees such a daring fellow. That night, he sends Nacho with the fifty thousand. Mike takes out twenty-five thousand and hands it to Nacho, stating that he cannot accept Nacho's money since the job wasn't done. Of course, the past conspiracy to frame Tuco is also treated as if it never happened.
