Plot Summary: Stacey rents an apartment in the city with a communal swimming pool, and Kaylee is having a blast in the pool. Old Mike thought things would come to an end, but they didn't. Just a week after Tuco's arrest, Tuco's uncle found him. The uncle was clearly prepared, having thoroughly investigated Old Mike's background. Tuco's uncle was very polite, first apologizing to Old Mike on behalf of his nephew. Then, with veiled intentions, he asked Old Mike for help, to admit to the police that the gun didn't belong to Tuco, but was snatched by Tuco during a struggle. Tuco now faces two charges, robbery and illegal possession of a firearm, and could be sentenced to eight years in prison. If Old Mike takes the blame for the gun, with his police background, the court might turn a blind eye, and Tuco would only have to serve a few months. Whether or not to take the blame, the other party didn't demand an immediate answer from Old Mike, but since they could investigate Old Mike's background, they could naturally find Stacey and Kaylee as well. Old Mike has brought trouble upon himself this time. This week, Jimmy also had a restless time. He consistently believed that Kim's demotion was Charles's idea. This conjecture was not without basis. After Jimmy started working in the mailroom at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, he was invited to dinner at his brother Charles's house, where Charles's girlfriend Rebecca was also present. Rebecca is a musician, and Charles, assuming the worst, thought Jimmy's words and actions would definitely annoy Rebecca, so he had arranged a specific signal beforehand. As long as Rebecca raised her hand to touch her earlobe, Charles would use the excuse of needing to look at documents to send Jimmy away. Unexpectedly, during the dinner, Jimmy's humor made Rebecca very happy, especially his jokes satirizing lawyers. Charles, on the side, anxiously touched his earlobe, but Rebecca was so amused by Jimmy that she didn't even notice. After dinner, after seeing Jimmy off, Charles and Rebecca tidied up and prepared to rest. Charles also tried to tell a lawyer joke, but Rebecca's reaction was flat. From this incident, it can be seen that Charles has an open mind and is good at calculations. Jimmy, on the other hand, is quick-witted and good at socializing. Everyone likes Jimmy, but respects Charles. Perhaps because of this, Charles always thinks Jimmy is being opportunistic, while Jimmy thinks Charles is secretly suppressing him. This time, with Kim's demotion, Jimmy is partly to blame. He personally wrote a complaint for Kim, accusing the firm of unfair treatment. But Kim would never accept this method, otherwise she would have no place in the legal profession. Jimmy still didn't give up, shouting that Charles was taking revenge. He was willing to resign voluntarily in exchange for Kim's position. Kim couldn't take it anymore, and the resentment accumulated in her chest burst out. She loudly scolded Jimmy to stop interfering in this matter, to first do his own job well, and to stop violating any rules of the bar association. As Kim said, Clifford provided Jimmy with an assistant lawyer, Erin, with the purpose of keeping an eye on Jimmy and preventing him from violating any association rules. Kim also did not resign herself to the status quo. During breaks at work every day, she used all her connections to find clients. After unremitting efforts, she finally secured a retainer contract with a large bank for the firm. This was a lawsuit worth two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, which Howard took very seriously and entrusted to Charles personally. However, he did not withdraw Kim's disciplinary decision, and Kim still had to remain in the large office. Of course, Charles would not be perfunctory when securing a large client. He decided to start work every day at midnight from now on and work until nine in the morning. This way, it would not affect others, and he would not be tormented by annoying phone calls. Charles sat in the dark office, reading documents by oil lamp, with a hint of dawn appearing outside the window. The lights in the outer assistant's office suddenly came on, and he stepped out from behind his desk, just seeing a worried-looking Kim. Kim was there to deliver the reviewed documents, and was surprised to meet Charles. She quickly turned off the lights and apologized repeatedly. Charles felt they should talk, so after making coffee, the two sat on the office sofa. Charles recalled an old story: when he was in college, his father ran a small corner store. This small store was his father's life's work, and Jimmy helped out in the store. After graduating from college, Charles, who was still working as a court clerk, went home to help sort out the store's accounts, only to find a deficit of fourteen thousand dollars. This money had been gradually taken by Jimmy from the cash register over several years. Finally, his father had to sell the small store to pay off debts, and he passed away six months later. On the day of the funeral, Jimmy cried very sadly. From then on, Charles knew that Jimmy was a kind-hearted person by nature, but he couldn't control himself and needed others to clean up his mess. This time, Kim was that person. From the perspective of the firm's owner, Charles believed that Kim had a bright future, and reviewing documents was pure overkill. He was willing to intercede with Howard, to calm Howard down and restore Kim's position. Kim smiled faintly, feeling a glimmer of hope. But as for whom to trust, Jimmy or Charles, she wasn't sure.
