Plot Summary:Jimmy stands outside the courthouse, anxiously pressing his pinky ring with his thumb. A new opportunity awaits him, with Clifford Main, Howard's partner, present. If Jimmy agrees, he can work at Davis & Main. But Jimmy can't think of any reason to continue being a lawyer, except for Kim. However, Kim seems to want to keep work and romance separate; accepting this job and whether there will be any substantial development between them are two completely different matters. Jimmy experiences disappointment once again. He rejects Clifford's invitation and drives away from the courthouse. At the parking lot entrance, he can't help but wonder why they didn't split the 1.6 million dollars evenly. Old Mike's answer makes no sense to him; he only knows he wants to live the life he desires from now on. Old Mike, however, is not as reckless as Jimmy. He has to keep taking odd jobs to plan for his granddaughter's future. Daniel, who previously hired him as a bodyguard, has become overconfident after a few deals with Nacho, buying a cool Hummer with the money from selling drugs. When old Mike sees Daniel intending to drive this car to a deal, he flatly refuses to accompany him. From his experience, he knows this conspicuous car will cause Daniel trouble. Daniel doesn't understand old Mike's good intentions and drives to the deal himself. As old Mike expected, Nacho immediately decides to stop trading with Daniel upon seeing the car, to avoid getting involved. Since they won't meet again, Nacho has a sinister thought: why not rob Daniel of all his stash, knowing he wouldn't dare call the police? While Daniel counts money in the back of the car, Nacho takes the opportunity to 'inspect' the car, pulling out Daniel's driver's license from the passenger glove compartment and secretly noting down his home address. Two days later, Daniel returns home to find it burglarized. Not only are all the drugs hidden behind the baseboard of the sofa gone, but even his most cherished set of baseball cards has been stolen. Daniel, enraged, calls the police without thinking. The officers who arrive to investigate immediately become suspicious upon seeing the Hummer outside and, upon learning Daniel's profession as an IT person at a pharmaceutical company, piece together most of the story. While Daniel prints a list of stolen items in the back room, the two officers carefully observe the scene, noticing that other furniture has been disturbed, but only the sofa remains untouched, with its cushions neatly arranged. After moving the sofa, the police find a secret compartment in the baseboard, essentially confirming that Daniel is involved in illegal drug dealing. They discreetly put the sofa back in place and assure Daniel they will do their best to recover the stolen baseball cards. However, to understand more, they hope Daniel can spare some time to come to the police station and answer a few questions from the detective in charge of the case. Meanwhile, Jimmy, who has decided not to be a lawyer anymore, has been enjoying a few leisurely days scamming free food and drinks at a paradise resort until Kim comes looking for him. Kim can't understand Jimmy's current thoughts and lifestyle. For years, Jimmy has strayed from himself, doing what Charles thought was right, but without getting recognition. So Jimmy wants Kim to understand his way of life. And in the resort bar, an arrogant stockbroker becomes his best target. Jimmy pretends that he and Kim are siblings, having a dispute over the investment of a huge inheritance, and needing the stockbroker's help to determine who is right and who is wrong. Seeing a 'naive' rich client willingly present himself, the stockbroker is naturally enthusiastic. To secure the investment from these 'siblings,' he even pays for their dinner out of his own pocket. Kim is initially uncomfortable but gradually gets into the swing of things, working with Jimmy to completely deceive the stockbroker. After enjoying a complimentary and expensive high-end wine, Jimmy and Kim sign the investment contract with fake names and quickly make their escape. This is Kim's first time experiencing such a feeling; the alcohol in her system, mixed with adrenaline, makes her find Jimmy so charming and clever. That night, Jimmy gets the substantial development he has long awaited. But he also knows that for Kim's sake, he can't continue living this life of scamming food and drinks. The next day, he once again puts on a suit, carries his briefcase, and arrives at the Davis & Main law firm in Santa Fe. Clifford is very happy to see him; every time someone is sent to Mesa Verde, the elderly clients always ask about Jimmy. Now that Jimmy has agreed to work at the firm, it will save a lot of trouble and attract more clients. Jimmy has his own office, his own rosewood desk, and a Mercedes-Benz provided by the firm. His life is getting back on track, but no one knows if his inherent unwillingness to be bound by rules will be an asset or an obstacle.
