Plot Summary: Kim's proposal of marriage was not an impulsive decision but one with personal and legal considerations. After marriage, Jimmy cannot and need not hide anything. As his wife, Kim has the right to refuse to testify against her husband if Jimmy faces any future charges. Logically and emotionally, marriage is the best solution. At the courthouse, Jimmy and Kim completed the formalities in the simplest way, even having Huell act as their witness. After leaving the court, they said a quick goodbye as Kim had to rush to Mesa Verde Bank. The matter with the Acker old man was, to say the least, a disaster. Rich and Kim sat opposite Kevin, unable to defend themselves. Although bank legal counsel Paige repeatedly spoke well of them, Kevin remained grim-faced and offered no opinion. Everything that needed to be said had been said, and there was no reason to waste more time. Rich and Kim left Kevin's office, each lost in thought. Rich felt there was a fifty-fifty chance of continuing the partnership with Mesa Verde. Kim, however, had other ideas. She turned back to Kevin's office and directly pointed out that the responsibility was not the firm's. From the beginning, Kim had suggested choosing an alternative site, treating the original plot as an investment. During negotiations with Jimmy, Kim also advised Kevin to recuse himself and ignore the opposing lawyer's exorbitant demands. Kevin did not accept these suggestions and eventually made a private deal with Jimmy. Therefore, the responsibility lay with Kevin, not the law firm. Regardless of whether their cooperation would continue, Kim advised Kevin to listen more to his lawyers. After hearing this, Kevin's expression changed, then quickly returned to calm. He was not an unreasonable person; having taken over the bank from his father and working for decades to expand it, he would naturally not blame others for a minor setback. When Kevin mentioned seeing them again at Thursday's regular meeting, Rich's heart leaped. It seemed Kim's impulsiveness had yielded a good result. With the firm's major client secured, Kim returned home feeling relieved. It was their wedding day, and the newlyweds usually had things to do. But Jimmy was not in the mood. After much thought, he finally told Kim. Shortly after they parted ways at the courthouse that morning, Jimmy received a call from Nacho, asking him to immediately go to the detention center to meet a new client named Jorge. In reality, this 'Jorge' was Lalo, Hector's nephew, a Mexican drug trafficker. Lalo's meaning was clear: no plea deal, no trial, just bail. Money would not be an issue once it was done. But he was charged with first-degree murder and a host of other serious crimes. Anyone with a brain would understand that he would undoubtedly jump bail and flee back to Mexico, making his chances of getting bail almost zero. So Jimmy didn't intend to handle the case seriously; he would just put on a show and then claim incompetence. Kim was pleased that Jimmy confided in her. The next morning, Kim and Jimmy kissed goodbye, rushing out to work. A little later, Jimmy heard a knock at the door, assuming Kim had forgotten some documents. Upon opening it, he found old Mike standing there, and his head immediately swelled with concern. Old Mike wasn't there to cause trouble; he was genuinely there to rescue Jimmy. Although Lalo was incarcerated, with his methods, he could still direct operations remotely. Nacho received a call from Lalo in prison, not only instructing him to manage drug trafficking matters but also to burn down a fried chicken restaurant as retaliation. Nacho dared not comply and had to seek out his contact, old Mike. After receiving the news, Gustavo weighed his options. To protect Nacho as a pawn, burning down a single store was acceptable; he could even do it himself. But Lalo still being able to issue orders from prison was a major problem. Eliminating Lalo in an American prison would certainly draw the attention of Mexican authorities to him, so Lalo had to return to Mexico before any action was taken. This meant getting Lalo out on bail through Jimmy. Lalo's arrest was orchestrated by old Mike, who naturally knew where the loopholes were. Armed with the information provided by old Mike, Jimmy was overjoyed and immediately applied for a bail hearing. The prosecution never expected the opposing lawyer to seize on the tiniest detail: the eyewitness, librarian Lillian, was guided by a private detective to provide her latest testimony to the police, raising suspicions of obstruction of justice. Jimmy also brought in 'Jorge's' family members in the United States to prove that 'Jorge' could not flee abroad. Jimmy tightly held onto the procedural flaws, leaving the prosecution speechless. The judge finally agreed to bail, setting it at a whopping seven million dollars. This amount made Jimmy jump out of his seat in protest. Lalo, however, was unfazed; seven million was a trifle. After the hearing, Jimmy hid in a corner, watching the weeping family members of the victimized wire transfer bank employee, feeling deeply unsettled.
