Plot Summary: The seven million dollar cash bail was astounding, but Lalo nonchalantly agreed to pay. However, to get the money, Jimmy had to make a trip to the US-Mexico border. Jimmy was at a loss for words; he really didn't want to get involved in this mess again. But Lalo had a point: such a large sum couldn't be withdrawn from American banks and had to be brought over from Mexico. His cousins were already on the radar in the US, and only Jimmy wouldn't be targeted by police or other drug dealers. Without the bail money, his job wouldn't be complete. Jimmy thought for a moment, gritted his teeth, and named his price: one hundred thousand dollars. Lalo agreed readily, almost without thinking. That night, Jimmy cautiously told Kim about it. Kim didn't want Jimmy to take the risk, but she couldn't resist his repeated assurances. The next morning, Jimmy set off in his old Suzuki. Following Lalo's instructions, he drove into the desert and found an inconspicuous dry well. Jimmy leaned against the car, taking a few sips of water. When bored, he didn't forget to pour some water from his flask to wipe the mud off his leather shoes. After a while, a silver SUV approached from across the border. Two burly men got out without a word, dropped two large bags of cash at Jimmy's feet, and then got back in and drove away without a sound. No one would imagine millions of dollars inside an old Suzuki. Jimmy drove back, thinking he'd soon have his hundred thousand. But halfway back, a Jeep closely following him made him feel uneasy. As soon as he entered a narrow mountain path, two pick-up trucks blocked the road ahead. Several heavily armed men got out, scaring Jimmy into pulling over. The situation was far worse than Jimmy imagined. These unknown assailants not only wanted the money but also intended to silence them. Jimmy knelt on the ground with his eyes closed, already feeling the gun barrel pressed against his forehead. A gunshot rang out, and Jimmy's chest was stained with blood. Someone in the distance saved Jimmy's life with a sniper rifle, and the other gunmen fired a volley in the direction of the gunshot. Jimmy huddled by the Suzuki's wheel, clutching his head, listening to the chaotic gunshots around him. After each sniper shot, one sound would disappear. Finally, silence fell. Jimmy heard a car approaching in the distance, stopping beside his. Another gunman, emerging from nowhere, fired wildly at the approaching vehicle. After a brief exchange of fire, the gunman abandoned his comrades, jumped into a red pick-up truck, and fled in a panic. More gunshots followed, as if the newcomers were confirming no one was alive. Then, Jimmy heard a familiar voice: Old Mike. Old Mike knew Lalo's rivals would try to hijack the bail money and had set up an ambush early in this most suitable interception spot. The plan was to escort Jimmy and the seven million back to the city after dealing with the trouble. However, the previous incident had punctured his car's fuel tank. The two had no choice but to continue their journey in Jimmy's old Suzuki, hoping to get out of the mountains and find a place with cell phone signal to call for help. Things went awry. The Suzuki's battery was damaged in the gunfight, and it stalled after a short drive. Old Mike removed the license plate, took the fuel cap, and then, with Jimmy's help, pushed the car down the slope. Since a survivor had escaped, the main road was no longer safe. Old Mike slung his sniper rifle, left the mountain path, and entered the mountains. Jimmy, carrying two heavy bags of money, followed closely behind him. The water in the flask dwindled, and his throat grew drier. Jimmy began to regret taking this job, regretting not having used water to wipe his shoes. The flask was empty. At Old Mike's suggestion, Jimmy collected half a flask of urine. But Jimmy would rather die than drink the yellow liquid. Old Mike had no choice but to pour out a little dew collected overnight to moisten Jimmy's throat. After a day and night in the desert, Jimmy would never have imagined that a worried Kim had already visited Lalo at the detention center. But the cunning Lalo wouldn't risk revealing the money pick-up location; everything depended on Jimmy's luck. At this point, Jimmy was thirsty and tired, dragging two money bags on the ground, making slow progress. It wasn't until Old Mike reminded him that he discovered a hole in one of the bags, with hundred-dollar bills scattered on the ground nearby. Old Mike used the license plate to patch the hole in the money bag, and looking at Jimmy, he was already collapsed in despair on the scorching sand, unwilling to get up. Several reflections flashed in the distance. Old Mike alertly hid behind rocks, pulling out binoculars to observe. It was the red pick-up truck that had escaped; the people in the car must have discovered the abandoned Suzuki in the ravine and were trying their luck. Old Mike originally intended to wait for the pick-up truck to pass before moving on. But Jimmy suddenly showed a burst of determination, picked up the two money bags, rushed down the slope, and walked openly on the mountain road. Old Mike knew he was attracting the enemy, wanting to die a quicker death if it came to that. The red pick-up truck quickly spotted Jimmy and sped towards him. Jimmy walked on, ignoring everything, only to hear a gunshot from the hillside. The speeding pick-up truck behind him flipped several times, crashing off the mountain road. Old Mike immediately rushed to the car, took out the already broken flask from inside, and then disappointedly dropped it on the sand. Jimmy, having survived the ordeal, also had an epiphany. He sat on the money bags and drank a sip of the urine from the flask. He made up his mind: he had to get back alive to see Kim.
